Distribution Manager

Summary
In the exciting career opportunity, you will be responsible for overseeing all distribution and warehouse operations on-site, ensuring efficient and safe logistics, inventory management and customer service alignment. The role involves leading a distribution team, integrating supply chain functions, managing raw materials and delivery operations and actively contributing to the site's cultural and operational standards. You will also lead continuous improvement initiatives and contributes to budget, reporting, and quality compliance.
As a member of the site management team, you will play a pivotal role in developing and achieving annual targets, plans and budgets
What you'll do
- Develop the team, training plans, and standard operating procedures to ensure safe and efficient warehouse operations
- Interface with Customer Service and transport providers to establish and maintain processes that ensure the timely and fit-for-purpose delivery of finished goods to customers.
- Ensure effective inventory control through timely and accurate SAP processing, regular cycle counts, and thorough investigation of any variances
- Take a lead role in establishing a culture of full compliance with site and corporate standards, where world-class safety behaviour, cleanliness, operational excellence and product quality are recognised as the standard
- Collaborate with other departments in the preparation of three-year development plans, including proposing CAPEX initiatives to improve equipment and processes
- Ensure thorough investigation and appropriate resolution of all service complaints received via the Customer Complaint Feedback System, including decision-making on approvals or rejections
What you'll bring
- Degree in either Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering or Transport & Distribution Management
- Extensive experience in managing warehouse and distribution operations, including staff supervision, inventory control, and logistics coordination
- Previous hands-on experience in manual handling and warehouse operations
- Strong background in end-of-month reporting, variance investigation, and operational analysis
- Demonstrated success in achieving operational targets under pressure
- Hold a current Forklift and Drivers Licence
