Technical Design Engineer

Siniat is one of the flagship brands of the Etex Group. Etex Australia manufactures and supplies Siniat wall and ceiling solutions to the local market and is the only Australian manufacturer of plasterboard and metal systems to offer a carbon-neutral opt-in program on a wide range of locally made products. 

What you'll do

  • Developing new innovative residential and commercial Fibre Cement products and systems from concept to launch
  • Project manage initiatives utilising Stage Gate process
  • Generate sketches, renderings, 3D models, BIM content, CAD files and technical drawings to visualise and document product designs
  • Digital and physical prototyping of new product concepts
  • Design product documentation and literature such as specifications, brochures, design and installation guides
  • Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers to produce products to specification
  • Interpret building codes and regulations, create product requirements and compliance plans, coordinate testing with internal stakeholders and external accredited laboratories
  • Provide best in class technical support and solutions for all building types and customers
  • Conduct site inspections and prepare detailed reports for communication to customer 

 

What you'll bring

  • Degree in Architecture or Product Design/Industrial Design or Engineering (Civil)
  • Membership of professional body preferred, not essential
  • 5 years + experience in a similar role ideally within the building materials / construction industry
  • Ability to travel around Melbourne metro and Interstate once per quarter
  • Expertise in planning and executing projects on time and budget
  • Applied technical skills to solve complex architectural problems, create products or design various project types
  • Design typical residential and commercial building types, applications, and typographies
  • Current VIC Drivers licence
