You will be keeping mechanical equipment running safely and reliably. You will start on daywork before moving into a 3 or 4 cycle shift pattern which includes shifts between 8 and 12 hrs. You will also have an opportunity to progress into a leading or management role over time.
What you’ll do:
- Carry out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance on production machinery to minimise downtime.
- Work to PPM schedules, liaising with planners to stay on track.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical breakdowns to keep production running.
- Complete risk assessments, method statements, and permit to work requirements.
- Support and train mechanical apprentices.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for maintenance tasks.
What you’ll bring:
- Completed recognised Mechanical Trades Apprenticeship, or equivalent.
- Demonstrable experience in manufacturing, ideally in construction materials manufacturing, engineering or heavy maintenance background.
- Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and turning/milling.
- Shift experience with continental/unsociable patterns.
- Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
Desirable:
- Strong organisational and communication skills, with a reliable and committed approach to work.
- Additional courses (relevant to trade).
