About the role

The position manages the Medium Plant platform (two plasterboard plants in Lippendorf/close to Leipzig and Peitz/close to Cottbus) to obtain the best possible machine efficiency with the lowest possible level of stoppages to ensure the optimal production capacity at all time of the production lines, ensuring consistent quality and specifications defined by the company, safeguarding the maintenance budget and required sourcing both in personnel needs and material requirements. Is responsible for managing the local facility engineering and manufacturing projects.

Key Accountabilities

  • Through a dedicated EHS department, promotes Health & Safety at all time, implementing and controls strict and efficient QHSE processes in the plant
  • Manages through subordinate department managers the complete scope of activities linked to production for a plant: manufacturing, maintenance, methods and Processes, logistics and quality
  • In close collaboration with the Regional Head of Operations and Manufacturing Staff, defines and follows up main performance KPIs to evaluate performance of the plant. 
  • Represents Etex within the administrative and regulatory environment, creating and nurturing a close relationship with workers councils, authorities, key opinion leaders and local institutions.
  • Has a capital responsibility of 30 Millions € 
  • Has a responsibility of 2 Plants with up to 80 employees (each) moderately modernized. Plant has a medium complexity.

Skills and Experience

  •  Graduated engineer (electro-mechanical with strong automation knowledge or chemical) or graduated technicians with a proven track record of industrial experience 
  •  CT industry experience and/or strong exposure to industrial processes with gypsum as the main ingredient, preferably a minimum of 7 years with experience in a manufacturing organisation or in maintenance management
  •  Fluency in English, both verbally and in written + local country language(s)/German
