This is a fixed-term contract (12 months) supporting the delivery of accurate management accounts, overhead control, and commercial financial analysis within our Bristol team. The role is hybrid with 3 days in the office and 2 from home, with flexible starting times between 7am and 10am within a 39-hour week. There is potential for the role to become permanent, depending on business needs at the end of the term.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Manage month-end close for overhead accounts, including accruals, prepayments, journals, and reconciliations.
  • Prepare overhead reports and provide commentary to help budget holders understand and manage their costs.
  • Support commercial reporting through margin analysis, pricing reports, and variance analysis.
  • Work with budget holders to prepare annual overhead budgets and rolling forecasts.
  • Build the budget for 2027, tracking spend against plan and highlighting key variances.
  • Act as a finance partner to non-finance colleagues across the business, helping them understand their financial performance.
  • Support improvements to overhead accounting processes and contribute to finance transformation projects where applicable.

 

What you’ll bring:

  • Experience with overheads, month-end close, and overhead reporting.
  • Experience with variance analysis for commercial purposes.
  • The ability to work independently.
  • A natural curiosity for data.

 

Desirable:

  • A manufacturing or previous contracting experience background.
  • Studying towards or holding an accountancy qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent).
