The Fire Test Manager will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of fire testing activities, associated classification, and third-party certification for the Promat brand within Etex Building Performance UK.

The role is critical in ensuring the safety and compliance of Promat products and systems with UK Building Regulations. The role will be based in Bristol working closely with the Application Support Manager but will require travel to UK and European test laboratories as required.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Work closely with internal development team and product management to ensure fire tests comply with project requirements, applicable UK Building Regulations, and industry best practice.
  • Develop and implement fire tests to evaluate fire performance of Promat products and systems.
  • Plan and manage national certification of Promat products and systems with UK and European notified bodies.
  • Provide guidance and support interpreting fire test results and recommending appropriate design modifications as necessary.
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders, such as regulatory bodies, testing laboratories, or clients, to establish effective communication channels, address enquires and maintain positive relationships.
  • Advise on bespoke major project specifications and provide safe, compliant commercially competitive solutions.
  • Stay informed about the latest developments in fire test standards, UK Building Regulations, and industry best practice and contribute through industry associations on official technical committees.

 

What you’ll bring:

  • A practical ability and experience in construction, site inspection or fire testing will be considered
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and evaluate complex fire test data.
  • Excellent project management and organisational abilities to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation and reports.
  • Practical installation skills and ability to supervise build teams as required.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel
