Etex has been driving our growth through strategic acquisitions and divestments, outlaying approximately €2billion of capital over the last 3 years including the high value acquisition of Ursa in 2022. We are currently looking to continue our strategic growth and are now looking for a Head of Corporate Development to join our Group Strategy team, reporting into our Chief Strategy Officer. As our Head of Corporate Development, you will play a pivotal role in the company’s future, helping us grow the business through strategic M&A activities across the globe. You will be a strategic visionary, adept at identifying and executing transformative deals while ensuring alignment with overarching corporate goals. This role can be based in Europe, ideally in one of our major markets of the UK, Belgium, Germany or France. 

What You'll Do

  • Managing the M&A process for all acquisition/divestments/JV projects and corresponding valuation, due diligence, and integration/carve out of targets.

  • Managing cross-functional teams with a hands-on, team-oriented approach whilst also ensuring objectives and targets are met in line with transaction timelines.

  • Driving of the complete due diligence process by ensuring all key value creators are assessed in support of the business plan, and identifying key risks and opportunities and ensuring they are reflected in the price adjustments.

  • Post-acquisition: drive the first stage of the integration of newly acquired companies before transferring to the respective P&L owner, ensuring proper integration within the organisation.

  • Building a robust M&A pipeline by focusing on our key strategic gaps, and proactively identify, cultivate and approach potential targets.

  • Continue to build and grow the networks of contacts across the globe including those in industry, PE Firms, Investment Banking, and private business owners.

  • Building a strong PMO framework and launching across functions to ensure the timely and accurate execution of the M&A activities.

What You'll Bring

  • Master’s degree preferably in Business, Economics, Engineering or Natural Sciences

  • High level of experience gained in Corporate Development/M&A at a top-tier industrial corporation, private equity firm, investment bank, or leading strategy consulting firm.  

  • Strategic insight, excellent analytical skills and apt to structure and independently drive complex projects.

  • Self-driven and motivated to learn and to deliver excellent results.

  • Experienced in delivering projects well organised, able to prioritise and manage tight deadlines.

  • Experience overseeing multiple high value deals, valuation and financial modelling skills is must.

  • Strong international deal experience and negotiation skills

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and inter-personal skills

  • Team player and motivator within multi-national and multi-disciplinary team

  • Fluent in English (spoken and written), another language is a plus.
