Etex are currently on the lookout for a Product Manager to join the Building Performance Team!
Bristol Based (Hybrid Working) & Regular UK Travel

What you’ll do:
Reporting into the Head of Marketing (UK), The Product Manager will be responsible for managing the product portfolio for joining compounds. The successful candidate will need to show expertise in the area of taping and jointing, determine product and sales strategy and maximise the growth and profitability of a product portfolio in a sustainable way
Key Responsibilities Include but are not Limited to:
- Ensuring a strong link of Product Management team with Sales, Participating in visits to customers with Sales Managers and Sales Representatives
- Regularly analysing and reporting customers’ satisfaction and needs
- Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of competitors and substitute product offer
- Overseeing the withdrawal of value destroying products
- Proposing new product development, undertaking feasibility studies and lead the definition of new product marketing mix
- Assessing the adequacy/consistency of existing product range and marketing mix within the product portfolio, propose improvements and manage the improvement process
- Following up sales forecast, production and sales results for product range and coordinate problem analysis and solving
- Ensuring all products are covered by specifications agreed by Quality Committee and follow up their application; take action if quality standards consistently fall below that expected/required
- Manage Intellectual Property issues related to the product range. Ensure protection of innovation, correct registration and maintenance of trademarks and patents
- Work in close cooperation with Sales Managers, Sales Reps, Segment Managers, Trade Marketing Manager, Technical Manager to ensure common understanding of customers’ needs, to develop products/systems meeting the needs of key end-user segments and installers and ensure alignment of actions to optimise product range performance.
What you’ll bring
Critical and Important:
- Ideally both Product management and Commercial experience, some of which must be in a Business to Business (B2B) environment
- A strong understanding of the importance of sales and customer relationship
- Confident, engaging character being able to work with and influence people at all levels of an organization
- Ability to build relationships, present and communicate at all levels in the business.
- Cooperative/team player
- Ability to build relationships, present and communicate at all levels in the business.
- Hard working, with a desire for excellence
- High sense of personal responsibility
- Degree Qualification in either Business or Technical Discipline
It would be an advantage, but is not essential, if you also have:
- CIM Accreditation
- A working knowledge of the construction industry and the routes to market involved
