Summary
We are an international leader in sustainable construction, driven by a passion for excellence, but it's our people that are our top priority. We connect, collaborate, and champion the well-being of our employees, forming partnerships and pioneering change in our ever-evolving industry.
At Etex, we seek to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our customers and our communities. Are you looking for a company where you can learn, grow & lead? Join us as a Supply Chain Planner in Bristol!
This role is about managing the flow and availability of traded goods across Etex's UK sites, ensuring we keep the right products in stock to meet demand whilst controlling costs and working capital. You'll develop and execute replenishment plans working closely with suppliers and teams across the business to balance product availability, customer service, and inventory investment. You'll be based at our Bristol manufacturing and head office sites, working hybrid (minimum two days per week on plant or in the office) with occasional travel to other UK locations. You'll work Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm with flexibility around your start and finish times.
What you'll do
- Manage day-to-day replenishment of traded goods across all UK sites, keeping stock levels aligned with demand and working capital targets.
- Review supply and usage data to spot potential shortages or slow-moving items before they become problems.
- Set and maintain inventory planning parameters like safety stock levels to match demand, lead times, and business needs.
- Work with Commercial and Product Management teams to understand how demand might change and adjust supply plans accordingly.
- Coordinate with suppliers to plan inbound deliveries, making sure they arrive when the warehouse can handle them without creating bottlenecks.
- Support product launches and phase-outs, managing the transition smoothly to minimise waste and disruption.
- Investigate when inventory numbers don't match expectations, identify why, and put improvements in place.
What you'll bring
Must-haves:
- Proven experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, ideally SAP, to manage planning, inventory, and supply chain processes.
- Demonstrated experience using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) tools to ensure accurate supply planning and material availability.
- Demonstrated experience of inventory management techniques, including safety stock setting, inventory optimisation, and stock control strategies.
- UK Driving Licence.
- Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Strong problem-solving capability.
- Ability to build strong working relationships across teams.
What would make you stand out:
- Track record of delivering measurable cost savings or efficiency improvements.
- Experience driving process improvements in inventory planning.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong supplier partnerships.
- Background in a manufacturing or multi-site environment.
- Experience supporting major business changes (e.g. product launches, site consolidations, system implementations).
- Background in a similar industry (e.g. construction, building materials, or manufacturing).
- Experience with raw material planning or production scheduling.
