A Construction Estimator will join our commercial team, supporting the preparation of accurate and competitive cost estimates for light gauge steel projects. Working closely with our contracts, design, and procurement teams, you will play a key role in turning design schemes into commercially sound proposals - from measuring drawings and developing budgets through to preparing final quote documents for client submission.
What you’ll do:
- Review design schemes and drawings to identify the most suitable light gauge steel solution for each project.
- Develop the Remagin solution by translating client briefs and designing information into a commercially viable proposal.
- Measure drawings and carry out accurate quantity take-offs using digital tools.
- Prepare detailed budget costs that are both competitive and commercially accurate.
- Prepare clear and professional quote documents for issue to clients.
- Work alongside contracts and design colleagues to review and refine estimates throughout the tender process.
- Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure all material costs are accurately reflected in proposals.
What you’ll bring:
- Must be confident working with numbers and able to measure drawings accurately.
- Comfortable working with Microsoft Excel and comfortable working with formulas and organised spreadsheets.
- Must be able to read and understand basic construction drawings and technical information.
- Be able to read, write and speak in English to professional level.
Nice-to-have:
- Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil/Structural Engineering, Architecture, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience using a digital measure tool, such as Blue Beam, CostX or similar.
