The position
The Sales Manager will focus on identifying and developing markets, segments and customers, that match Skamol's current and future capabilities by positioning and marketing Skamol as a global brand within technical insulation systems.
Core tasks belonging to the position are:
- Strategic market development: focus on market research and analysis, identifying trends and opportunities, and developing and executing strategic growth plans.
- Sales and customer management: This job involves acquiring new customers and projects, building strategic relationships, and advising customers on appropriate solutions. External customers are: Procurement officers/departments as well as technical department at customers. Also: Architect’s offices prescription, contractors, building consultants, and housing associations.
- Internal collaboration and reporting: Collaboration with Segment Leader Skamol, Regional Director, Regional Manager Nordics, Product Managers, VP R&D, Internal Sales Coordinator
Skills
Technical knowledge:
- Knowhow of the building industry and construction sector, including trends such as sustainability and circularity.
- The requirements are preferably both operational and strategic to:
- To promote our inside insulation SkamoWall / SkamoEnclosure
- To position our systems within the professional distribution market for building materials resulting in achieving higher sales and revenue
- Visiting and training of craftsmen and installers to promote the advantages and benefits of our systems
- Visiting and training architects to identify relevant projects and ensure that our systems are prescribed
- Structured use of CRM (e.g., SuperOffice, Salesforce)
- Negotiations of price and contractual terms
- Attend to technical trainings, trade fairs, industry events
Management skills:
- Relationship management for architects, large contractors, specifiers, distributors and
building owners.
Social skills:
- High communication skills in both verbal as written;
- Well able to work in teams and solo;
- Adaptability;
- Problem Solving: thinking in possibilities instead of problems;
- Time Management;
- Has his/ her network and can create new ones;
- Acts as a trusted advisor in the renovation chain.
Education and experience
- Education on Bachelor level in the direction of Technical Construction (e.g. Architecture), Building Engineering or other relevant education with a strong commercial focus.
- At least 3 to 5 years of experience in external Sales positions
- Preferable experience from the building industry
- Advantage if the person has experience with selling to craftsmen and/or architects
