Summary
- The Capex strategic buyer will be responsible for managing the whole purchasing process for capital expenditure projects that have been agreed centrally for far east sourcing, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services required for infrastructure development, equipment purchases, and facility expansions.
- This position is a transversal position and will work on worldwide projects for multi divisions, sourcing and contracting with far east suppliers in conjunction with the European global capex purchasing counterparts.
What you'll do
- Implementing cost-effective procurement strategies, aligning with business objectives and financial goals.
KPIs: Cost savings (avoidance) achieved, Supplier performance scores. - Conduct and ensure the performance on the entire purchasing process in the project: Technical clarification, Request for Proposal, supplier evaluation, offer validation, commercial and contract negotiation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess project requirements, develop specifications, identify new suppliers; conduct due diligence on them with key stakeholders, and establish purchasing plans.
- Creation and approval of RFPs
KPIs: Compliance rate with procurement policies and process, Time to market. - Decision-making in critical situations.
KPIs: Speed of issue resolution. - Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with suppliers to achieve optimal terms and conditions while mitigating risks, seeking approval from Etex Legal department.
KPIs: Contractual terms improvement, Cost reduction achieved through negotiation. - Developing and executing procurement plans
KPIs: Adherence to budget and timelines, Percentage of projects completed as per strategic goals
What you'll bring
- Education & Experience
- Master's’ degree in business or engineering (specialized in purchasing), with interest in technical products purchasing aspects.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Purchasing in industry.
- Experienced in purchasing for a multi-site company.
- Market intelligence experience in the Chinese capex sector. - Skills
- Be autonomous and able to integrate fast in a new organization.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Language skills: Mandarin and English (mandatory).
- Travel requirement: 50%, worldwide, mainly in China/Far East
