Reliability Engineer

Summary

This is a newly created, exciting opportunity for an engineer or experienced trades professional who enjoys solving complex technical problems, working closely with production and maintenance teams, and making a tangible impact on plant performance. 

You will be responsible for improving asset reliability, reducing downtime, optimising maintenance strategies, and supporting a culture of safety and operational excellence.

What you'll do

• Develop and optimise maintenance strategies for critical plant assets
• Analyse equipment performance, failures and maintenance costs to identify improvement opportunities
• Lead Root Cause Analysis investigations and implement sustainable corrective actions
• Drive preventive, predictive and condition-based maintenance programs
• Develop detailed maintenance job plans and manage work order quality
• Coordinate maintenance schedules, shutdown activities and resource planning
• Champion Total Productive Maintenance initiatives and continuous improvement activities
• Support engineering projects, plant upgrades, commissioning and new asset introductions
• Ensure all maintenance activities align with safety, quality and compliance requirements

What you'll bring

You are a practical, hands-on problem solver who combines strong technical knowledge with a continuous improvement mindset.  Ideally, you will bring:

• A strong commitment to safety, quality and teamwork
• A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronic Engineering and 3-5 years of site-based reliability or maintenance experience OR a Mechanical, Electrical or Instrumentation trade qualification with 5+ years post-trade experience, including exposure to reliability, planning or maintenance improvement activities
• Experience with reliability methodologies such as RCM, FMEA, RCA and condition monitoring
• Knowledge of TPM, Lean Manufacturing or other continuous improvement frameworks
• Experience using CMMS platforms such as SAP PM, Maximo or similar systems
•  Strong planning, scheduling and backlog management capabilities
•  Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
