Summary

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the day-to-day needs and long-term planning by ensuring that high-performance maintenance services are provided within the plant to meet safety, quality, and production goals.
They will be responsible for managing all aspects of the maintenance department, including managing the upkeep of all manufacturing assets, managing maintenance budget and resources, and assisting in the design and installation of new systems. They will also be responsible to ensure that the facilities, layout and machinery used to produce new and existing materials and goods, run to their maximum efficiency and output. This includes total preventative maintenance (TPM), Driving Reliability Roadmap by managing breakdowns of mechanical, electrical and robotic equipment (including software programming) as well as people management and budgetary/cost reporting through effective use of CMMS systems (SAP). The management of maintenance activities using our CMMS and having close monitoring of our Critical Spare parts.

What you'll do

The role encompasses various elements related to the upkeep, maintenance and improvement of all manufacturing assets used in the production process, along with people management and general management responsibilities.

  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice maintenance vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance through 3-YR masterplan process
  • Lead the execution of the Reliability Roadmap
  • Ensure the Maintenance Performance Dashboard is developed and monitored
  • Plan the resources based on a clear reading of performance and in anticipation of major maintenance activities
  • Develop a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule, ensuring full preventative maintenance is carried out, plan in ‘missed’ maintenance activities, and manage critical spares list in line with budgetary requirements and replacement schedules
  • Prepare the annual Maintenance budget and forecasts for all Spares Capital Expenditure proposals as well as ensuring compliance with legal standards
  • Develop clear accountability for maintenance material spend combined with a strategy to manage expenditure
  • Manage systems and equipment data storage and maintain high levels of standards and accuracy through routine monthly cycle count of all maintenance inventories
  • Undertake continuous training and development of self as well as team
  • Provide technical expertise to the team through consultation with Group best practice
  • Stay current and up to date on any changes that may affect the reliability of the plant through technological developments and prevent system redundancy
  • Manage, coach and develop a high performing Maintenance team that meets agreed objectives and which delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements
  • Be an effective communicator, able to clearly communicate technical issues
  • Financial acumen to understand, evaluate and manage budget information and costs
  • Demonstrate leadership to effectively manage the maintenance team structure and hold teammates accountable towards achieving a high standard of workmanship

What you'll bring

  • Extensive plant level experience with significant proven management experience
  • Technical capability and understanding especially of PLC/ Siemens /HMI/SCADA systems
  • Extensive knowledge of TPM/EEM/PM systems for Professional Maintenance
  • Experience of managing Profit and Loss (P&L) responsibilities for maintenance
  • Engineering Degree in Either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Proven work experience as a Maintenance or Engineering Manager in a continuous manufacturing environment (24-hr operation)
  • Adept at CMMS systems such as SAP or suitable alternative
  • Relevant industry qualifications to certify experience in CMMS/PM/TPM/PLC etc
  • Understand spare parts management, purchasing and CAPEX budgeting
  • Understand machine safety regulations such as CE markings
  • Be willing to support maintenance activities after hours, weekends and during holidays, in line with defined callout and afterhours support procedures
  • Be willing to build and develop a network of credible maintenance and technical suppliers to ensure ongoing support to improve overall plant reliability
  • Must be a team player, willing to coach, mentor and develop their team
