Project Engineer

Mission and Context

The Project Engineer will lead one phase of a small or large engineering project from start to finish. Takes under his/her responsibility the management of industrial projects from their opportunity study to their commissioning and start up.

Assess and study the different technical scenarios to define the most appropriated to meet the customer, budget and time expectations.   He/She issues the specifications according to customer requirement, analyses the suppliers offers, participates to the supplier selection, contract redaction with management and purchasing department. 

He/She is the interface between the client (plant team) and the suppliers.    Thanks to his/her technical comunications and organisational skills drive and monitor the project realisation. Involve with suppliers and plant team during detailed engineering, safety design, factory acceptance tests, commissioning validation and final acceptance tests

He/She guaranties equipment conformity with the regulation and Etex EHS Standards and specifications, time schedule and budget respected. 

He/She can have some technical assistance to carry out in order to give support to operational teams when some issue are recurrent or difficult to solve with the plant staff.

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Built Project Specifications and project organization (10%)

2. Analyse offers, involve in the final selection with purchasing, involve in the contracts prepartion (20%) 

3. Follow up of the project realization : Organize periodical follow up meetings with suppliers, plant team, is regularly on site to control the project progress accordingly to the specifications (30%) 

4. Monitor test and start up of equipment to be sure that the project outcome fit with the original requirement (10%) 

5. Other tasks ; Steering committe preparation, budget and time schedule follow up, administrative tasks, training, transversal working group, technical assistance (10%) 

6. Technical assistance (20%)

Required Experience

Junior profile (2-3 Years) within the field of engineering 

Language Skills

Fluent in Dutch and English.  Knowledge of French and/or Spanish is an Asset

The PE is eager to take up technological challenges in multidisciplinary industrial engineering projects. a first experience with industrial engineering is an asset.   PMO Skills

He/She is the leader of the technical project and depending on the organisation of the overall project. Focused on technical implementation, project timeline, budget compliancy, customer satisfaction and is the hinge of the communication between all the dept involved in the project.

He/She is a focused problem solver which reflects in a high level of creativeness. The PE will use EEM (Early Equipment Management) and FMEA (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis). 

He/She is able to take responsibility in an autonomous way, but within the context of a multidisciplinary team. 

He/She has a high level of empathy and capacity to learn from others, active listerning and open mind. 

He/She is eager to acquire expertise and knowhow in Etex Industry and Fire Protection technology.

He/She will take the lead in CAPEX(-sub) projects up to 500kE

Required Education

Master in industrial engineering or civil engineering or equivalent by experience in inducstrial, multi-disciplinary engineering projects.
