SSC Payroll Manager Benelux

Mission and Context

As Payroll Manager Benelux, you will manage our Benelux payroll team of 6 professional payroll officers, and all stakeholder relations amongst the clients of the Shared Service Center Payroll Benelux (mostly HR and Finance), for 14 Etex companies in the Benelux region. In this role, you will oversee and maintain a reliable and solid payroll process. You will be expected to spot and implement process improvements, cost-effective efficiency gains, build a high level of stakeholder satisfaction and solidify employee engagement.

 

 

Reporting line

You will report to the Head of Etex Business Services, and a matrix reporting line to the Head of Total Rewards.

Roles and Responsibilities

The main tasks for a Payroll manager:

 

  • Play a key role in leading, organizing & monitoring reliable & timely monthly payroll processing & reporting for all companies (approx. 1600 office and factory workers, International Mobility files (IM), in compliance with all tax laws and corporate policies & procedures
  • Manage change in legislation and implement them into systems and payroll processes, while developing automation opportunities
  • Implementation of Comp&Ben projects for the Benelux region in close cooperation with the Regional and Group CoE Total Rewards
  • Produce and analyze meaningful KPI’s, dashboards & analytics to measure and improve performance, including implementing action plans
  • Responsible for building a reliable set of internal controls & the preparation of external and internal audit activities related to payroll processes & reporting
  • Act as a Shared Service point of contact for urgent matters & escalations in addition to partnering with internal and external stakeholders, aligning client expectation while ensuring solid  relationships  (local HR managers, Divisional HR Business Partners, Compensation and Benefits Team …)
  • Defining, shaping, leading and delivering payroll projects
  • Drive team engagement through strong leadership principles and pro-active interpersonal communication, building a well-organized, structured and services-oriented Payroll organization

Required Experience

  • You have at least 5 years’ experience in a role as payroll team manager.
  • You have a strong background in (international) payroll, social legislation, and corresponding reporting.

 

Language Skills

  • You are fluent in Dutch & English, written as well as spoken. 

 

Functional Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to problem solve and use technology to improve team efficiency
  • Excellent leadership and facilitation skills
  • Impactful communication & presentation skills to lead and influence others across organizational levels 
  • Demonstrated change/project management skills by establishing priorities, delivering & committing to action plans
  • IT savviness & highly experienced in Microsoft Office Suite is a must
  • Experience in Shared Service models & knowledge of any payroll tool preferred

 

 

Required Education

You have a Bachelor/master’s degree in economics or Human Resources
