Technical Drafter/Estimator

About the role

• Accurately quantify the total m2 of materials required and its associated accessories items for projects.
• Using AutoCAD and proprietary company software, review client's design drawings and provide accurate estimations.
• Ensuring all documentation received from a client is comprehensive enough to provide an accurate estimation.
• Produce accurate lump sum estimations.
• Advice on possible quantity implications / variations if design changes.
• Assist Sales & Technical organization in the transition from estimation to design in projects.
• Assist in the assessment of any possible improvement areas from the commercial aspect of the business.
• Liaise with local Sales organization to improve the content of information and the process of handover to the client.
• Provide technical assistance to the local sales, technical and marketing organization.

About you

• Possess a Bachelor's degree in one of the fields of construction / civil / mechanical / engineering / architecture with a minimum 1 year working experience as a drafter/estimator in the building sector. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply as this is an entry level position.
• Diploma holder with many years of working experience can also be considered.
• Experience in facade construction and working/studying in an international organization setup are an asset.
• Able to understand and interpret architectural drawings, shop drawings and technical specifications.
• Practical, administratively very accurate and have good organizational skills.
• Willing to take additional responsibilities and to take the lead where required. 
• Have a strong command of MS Office (Excel-Words-Power Point) and Autodesk AutoCAD. Knowledge of other architectural software e.g. ArchiCAD and Revit is an advantage.
• Basic command of English language. The candidate must have skills in both written and spoken. Other language skills in Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin and/or European languages are added advantage.
• Excellent capacity to plan and organize his/her job and projects and strategies.
