Etex are seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join the Sigmat team!

What you’ll do:

The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for supporting the Commercial Manager/ Senior Quantity Surveyor on the successful management and control of all aspects of the commercial / financial and contractual elements of the designated projects in order to control and maximise the company’s profitability, protect the companies legal and contractual obligations under the contract and to manage proactively the control of all commercial issues. To understand, implement and adhere to the company SHEQ policy/strategy

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Subcontract procurement including preparation of order documents and negotiation of order
  • value
  • Management and control of subcontract accounts
  • Process subcontractor requests for payment and issue of notices
  • Measure progress, assist in submitting valuations, final accounts and retention release and
  • monitor receipt of payment in a timely manner
  • Change management control
  • Preparation of documentation and the like for valuation, procurement or commercial

administration

  • Assisting and liaising with the buyers on materials procurement and buying opportunities
  • Management of day-to-day cost control, monitoring and reporting
  • Develop an understanding of the designated contract, specification and pricing ensuring
  • compliance with conditions throughout
  • Assist in completing a monthly cost / valuation report and cash flow for the designated projects
  • Attend project and company related meetings
  • Assist the Commercial Manager/Senior QS in management of the costs on a project to ensure
  • both the company and the client is fully advised of the cost situation
  • Assist in ensuring company with Health & Safety
  • Be responsible for your safety and others around you
  • Maintaining and developing professional relationships with the Client, to help future business

  • Any other task commensurate with this post

 

What you’ll bring

  • Qualified to a degree / HNC level, or equivalent
  • Experience in a similar role and industry is highly desirable
  • Ability to communicate at all levels – verbal and written
  • Experience in working effectively in teams
  • Must hold a valid CSCS card
