This is a hands-on manufacturing role based at our Leeds facility, where you’ll work across the production floor assembling steel frames, carrying out quality checks, and supporting the movement of product through to logistics. All training is provided, and there is a clear progression route within the business - from Level 1 to Level 2, typically within around six months, through to roles in quality, logistics, and line supervision. The role works on a rotating shift pattern and is fully on-site. Standard working pattern is Monday-Friday between 6am-2pm and 10am-6pm. On Fridays, the later shift runs 8am-4pm.
Please note that from July to October 2026, an adjusted shift pattern is in place due to a production uplift which is Monday to Thursday 6am-4pm and Friday 6am-2pm.
What you’ll do:
- Use hand and power tools to assemble steel frames and components.
- Read and work from technical drawings to manufacture steel to exact dimensions.
- Carry out quality checks on all products and report any defects or damage to your Team Leader.
- Operate pallet trucks and forklifts to move materials safely within the production and logistics areas.
- Pack and band materials, complete all required documentation, and carry out daily pre-use checks.
- Support general housekeeping and stock checks to keep the production floor running smoothly.
- Provide on-the-job guidance and support to new starters when required.
What you’ll bring:
- Experience working in a manufacturing facility, specifically in assembly or fabrication with similar materials.
- A basic understanding of technical drawings and the ability to work from them.
- Hands-on experience using hand tools.
- A good level of English, both written and spoken.
- Desirable: experience across a variety of assembly environments, or transferable skills from woodworking or similar trades.
