Etex are seeking a Quality Environmental, Health and Safety Manager (QEHS) to join the team!

Location: Leeds – Regular National Travel & Occasional International Travel

Competitive Salary Depending on Experience

What you’ll do:

The QEHS Manager is responsible for taking a lead role in supporting all matters of Quality, Environmental, Health, and Safety compliance across both the operational footprint and Construction sites to ensure consistent progress.

Key Responsibilities Include but are not Limited to:

  • Ensuring that site teams are aligned with the business objectives and targets
  • Supporting and advising all sites on all legal requirements, ensuring that the business area always remains complaint and audit ready
  • Through visible leadership, ensuring a positive safety and environmental culture is encourages, continuous improvement sustained, and the sharing of best practices demonstrated
  • Managing the generation and upkeep of required QEHS improvement plans across the BU
  • Supporting the development of Performance Plans and controlling the QEHS budget for the Operational BU
  • Aiding in the implementation of Etex Group QEHS and Quality Objectives within the BU
  • Ensuring that quality standards are achieved across all sites, local, divisional, global, UK and international
  • Carrying out regular audits against the ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 standards and demonstrate improved performance
  •  To always promote Health & Safety in the workplace, displaying excellent personal safety and challenging others when unsafe behaviour is observed. Taking full responsibility for driving a safety-first performance culture within your team / department to ensure we achieve our overall aim of ‘Zero harm’
  • Provide guidance to the QEHS Team for ensuring high quality investigation of incidents
  • Supporting the ‘One Etex’ philosophy by leading QEHS team meetings (local, UK and regional) to ensure best practice, sharing knowledge and supporting efficient work activities
  • Identifying, promoting, and sharing best practices from within Etex Group as well as other external sources
  • Using QEHS data created to identify trends and opportunities for improvements
  • Any other tasks to be reasonably expected within the scope and grade of this role

 

What you’ll bring:

  • HND or Degree in relevant discipline
  • GCSE grade A-C in Maths and English (or equivalent)
  • NEBOSH Diploma
  • IEMA Certificate in Environmental Management
  • CMIOSH
  • ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018 Lead Auditor
  • Excellent level of written and spoken English
  • The ability to interpret and implement legislative and regulatory change
  • Personable and approachable
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills to explain QEHS issues at all levels of the business
  • Strong communication skills to work with people and provide training on QEHS Procedures
  • Demonstratable relevant experience of working in a commercial or industrial environment
  • Experience of reading Engineering Drawing
  • Experience of developing Quality Control Plans
