Team Leader - Fabrication

Shifts: Rotating 6am - 2pm / 2pm - 10pm.

The Role:

Working in the Fabrication department, the Team Leader will be responsible for leading all areas of roll forming to meet daily customer demand and production schedules, ensuring that quality and health & safety is maintained at all times. You will also be responsible for training new operatives in the role and maintaining a high standard of reports and assisting and supporting the Production Management team and Supervisor where necessary

Key responsibilities and accountabilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Ensuring all work is carried out in a safe and efficient manner & in accordance with SSOW

  • Ensuring safe and efficient use of all machinery and equipment

  • Maintaining housekeeping standards at all times

  • Making team aware of targets and responsibilities

  • Providing first line support to Production Supervisors and Management team

  • Working positively and proactively with all departments and colleagues to resolve any issues or problems

  • Highlighting any opportunities for improvement both within area of responsibility or between departments

  • Maintaining team discipline at all times i.e. monitoring break times, performance, output etc. 

  • Consistently ensuring that each member understands what is expected of them

  • Training and assisting the Fabricator Welders and semi skilled Fabrication operatives and new team members in all aspects of their job, including ensuring they have good health and safety awareness

  • Ensuring all the team are wearing correct PPE and it is used and kept in a good condition suitable for the work being carried out

  • Attending daily reporting and production meetings where necessary and required

  • Reporting and deal with any accident or dangerous occurrence in accordance with the procedure

  • Reading and interpreting drawings, orders and follow verbal instructions according to the plan set out by the Production Management team

  • Fabricating and weld according to the Sigmat specification and follow the drawings

  • Adhering to and report Etex/Sigmat Health & Safety at all times

You:

  • Experience of leading a team would be an advantage

  • Excellent attendance and timekeeping

  • PC literate – comfortable using all Microsoft Office applications

  • Good attention to detail
