What you'll do
In the exciting career opportunity, you will oversee our credit management processes, ensuring timely collections, minimizing bad debt risks, and maintaining strong customer relationships. The role is critical in optimizing cash flow and reducing financial risk. You will also be responsible for assessing creditworthiness, resolving disputes, optimizing cash flow, and collaborating cross-functionally to achieve company financial objectives.
Key responsibilities:
- Evaluate customer credit applications, conduct risk assessments, and provide recommendations to management
- Monitor customer credit limits, arrange interim payments as needed, and review accounts for potential limit increases
- Manage credit insurance activities, liaising with insurers on policy updates, submission of claims, and limit adjustments
- Proactively manage the aged debtors’ ledger, reconciliation of customer ledger, ensuring timely follow-up on overdue accounts
- Mediate between customers, sales, and claims departments to resolve disputes and facilitate payment
- Customer master data management, Payment allocations, Customer accounts reconciliation, and order release in SAP
- Provide regular updates to the Credit Manager on overdue accounts, and cash flow metrics
- Generate ad hoc reports as required to support business decisions and credit analysis
What you'll bring
- Minimum 4 years of experience in credit control and collections
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred
- Familiarity with Australian credit laws, and debt recovery processes
- Strong knowledge of collections best practices, credit risk assessment, financial review, and dispute resolution
- Proficiency in SAP and Excel skills (pivot tables, Vlookups, etc)
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to build rapport with customers and internal stakeholders
- Analytical mindset, proactive and results driven
- Focused on achieving targets and minimising bad debt
- High attention to detail, skilled in Customer Master Data Management
