Business Development Manager - Data Centre

About the role

We are seeking a Business Development Manager to drive growth of FSi Promat firestopping products within the Data Centre sector across the UK, Ireland, and wider Europe. This is a new and pivotal role focused on building market presence, developing strategic partnerships, and delivering strong commercial results.

You will identify new opportunities, lead key commercial initiatives, and help shape the future trajectory of this segment. You will also support and drive specification of Promat firestopping solutions within the datacentre segment, white wall market as a whole and with specifiers in wider sectors as well.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop a UK go‑to‑market plan for the Data Centre segment
  • Support broader European expansion
  • Own UK sales, margin, and cost‑of‑sales
  • Build and convert a strong sales pipeline
  • Engage specifiers and key decision makers
  • Implement commercial excellence processes
  • Provide technical support to this segment
  • Lead deal‑making and negotiate strategic agreements
  • Provide market insights and competitive intelligence
  • Propose and deliver the annual UK budget under the Country Manager
  • Participate in Data Centre–related industry groups
  • Drive year‑on‑year growth targets for the business unit

What you’ll bring:

  • Business Development and Key Account Management experience within construction, ideally linked to Data Centres and whitewall.
  • Strong analytical skills and business insight
  • Technically minded
  • Expertise in driving specification
  • Commercially driven mindset with a passion for hunting new business
  • Deep market knowledge of customers, products, and competitors
  • Proven ability to deliver results in a commercial environment
  • Excellent influencing skills across multiple countries
