What you’ll do:

  • Prepare accurate lump sum estimations and tender documentation.
  • Ensure all client documentation is comprehensive enough to provide an accurate quotation.
  • Use company software, including Commercial Preliminary Design infill tech review sheets and Lump Sum Documents.
  • Provide clients with clear indicative designs of their finished product using Trimble SketchUp.
  • Advise clients on cost implications and potential variations in the event of design changes.
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients, building strong relationships and addressing commercial queries.
  • Liaise closely with the sales team to improve information quality and streamline handover to estimating.
  • Support the smooth transition from estimating to design through a comprehensive sales handover procedure.
  • Assist in identifying areas for improvement across the commercial side of the business.
  • Manage estimating administration and maintain professional client communication.
  • Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as may reasonably be required within the scope of the role.

What you’ll bring:

    • Proven experience in estimating, ideally within the construction or manufacturing sector.
    • Knowledge of light gauge steel, offsite construction, and modern methods of construction (MMC).
    • Background in manufacturing processes and their application to construction projects.
    • Familiarity with quantity surveying principles and cost control methods.

    • Proficiency in using relevant software (e.g., SketchUp, estimating tools, and Microsoft Office).
    • Strong analytical and numerical skills with excellent attention to detail.
    • Effective communicator with the ability to liaise confidently with clients, sales teams, and internal departments.
    • Organised, proactive, and capable of managing multiple tenders and deadlines simultaneously.
