The Graduate Structural Engineer supports the design and delivery across residential and commercial projects while gaining hands-on experience with support from senior engineers.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Complete structural design and calculations for steel-framed residential buildings.
  • Review and interpret technical drawings for low, medium, and high-rise residential projects.
  • Design light-gauge steel, hot rolled steel, and composite floor slabs.
  • Provide SFS design solutions for the building envelope in residential and commercial buildings.
  • Use design software (AutoCAD, Tekla Structures) to produce technical drawings and models for manufacturing of light gauge steel elements and panelised systems.
  • Use engineering software (Tekla Structural Designer, Tedds) to produce structural designs for steel elements.
  • Work to project timelines, communicate with clients, project teams, and management with support from your manager or senior engineers.
  • Visit construction sites across the UK when required.

 

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other relevant degrees.
  • Good range of engineering knowledge and the ability to apply them to practical challenges.
  • Ability to carry out hand calculations and use spreadsheets confidently.
  • Familiarity with 3D modelling and design software is advantageous.
  • Eagerness to work independently as well as part of a team.
