We are recruiting for a Dayshift Mechanical Engineer at our Stirling site (Superglass). This is a hands-on, predominantly planned maintenance role within a close-knit engineering team on a manufacturing site. The successful candidate will carry out routine and reactive mechanical maintenance on a variety of equipment including conveyor systems, bearings, gearboxes and other rotating equipment.
What you’ll do:
- Carry out planned and preventative mechanical maintenance across production plant and building services.
- Support the reactive maintenance team with breakdowns when required.
- Ensure all work complies with Health & Safety regulations, including completing risk assessments.
- Support installations and commissioning of new equipment.
- Contribute to continuous improvement activities such as Kaizen and 5S to drive operational excellence.
What you’ll bring:
- HNC/HND qualification in Mechanical Engineering or completion of a Level 3 apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering.
- Proven mechanical engineering experience within a manufacturing environment is advantageous.
- Strong skills in maintaining plant equipment including conveyors, rotating machinery, pumps, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Process oriented, self-directed and autonomous, with the ability to work as part of a greater team.
- Excellent communication skills and computer literacy (MS Word, Excel).
